Hiking Through the Mud, Mist and Wildflowers at Oregon's Saddle Mountain

One summer day my brother and I decided to take on Saddle Mountain. Of course, this being Oregon and all, it started pouring as soon as we made it to the trailhead. Oregonians that we are, we decided to go for it anyway. Besides, we'd never get anything done here if we canceled plans for a little rain. The result was a muddy scramble through fog and wildflowers to the top of Saddle Mountain, where just as we hit the peak the clouds cleared and we were able to see the Pacific Ocean. Needless to say, this is one of my favorite hikes from this year.

I could go on... Or you could just check out the video we shot along the way with my brother's GoPro. We've since upgraded to the latest model and started a YouTube channel for our upcoming outdoor adventures. Have a favorite Oregon hike? Let us know and maybe it will be our next video.

Adventure on,
