Hope you're hungry, Portland.
Portland Dining Month is here.
If you're unfamiliar, Portland Dining Month is an ultra tasty time of the year where the Portland restaurants dish out 3-course meals for $29 a person. Depending on where you choose, this can be a fantastic deal and a chance to test taste a nice restaurant at a reasonable price point.
This year, the good folks at Travel Portland sent me to Raven & Rose. I'd been here years ago for happy hour and was excited to try the food this go around.
At Raven & Rose, the Portland Dining Month menu is served in the Rookery Room— in what used to be the hayloft above the historic carriage house back in the day. The menu features a large garden salad, red wine braised short ribs served with root vegetables and finishes with a dessert of Meyer lemon ice cream and brown butter shortbread cookies. My friend opted for the insanely delicious mac and cheese. All in all, it was a great night catching up with an old friend over a tasty meal while listening to live music.
Did you have any favorite Portland Dining Month menus this year? My friend Rachel (Love, Rachel) and I also taste tested the menu at Little Bird Bistro and it was très délicieux. If you still have yet to try Portland Dining Month, it's not too late! The promotion lasts until the end of March at over 120 Portland-area restaurants.
