‘Tis the Season! 7 Unique Gifts for the Modern Wayfarer

Since my travels to Peru are soon after Christmas, my family and friends have all offered to wait and receive their gifts once I get back. Peruvian chocolate, anyone? Even though the gifts are usually small and sometimes a little battered after being hauled through customs, it always feels more special to give gifts found while on the road.  But what do you give the traveler?  Thinking beyond the usual headphones, power adapters, and passport covers, I’ve rounded up a few of my current obsessions this holiday season that are perfect for the modern wayfarer on your list.

Field Notes Brand Notebooks– $9.95
We all know a budding Kerouac and these lightweight notebooks are the perfect size for him or her to slip into a pocket when exploring.

Artifact Uprising Photo Book – Starting at $17.99
Get those Instagrams offline and bound in a gorgeous photo book. I love the idea of creating a book for travel buddies to commemorate a trip shared within the past year. Not only is the AU photo book beautifully designed, it’s reasonable too.

ONA Camera Bag$425
No need to sacrifice functionality for style here. I’ve been pining over The Brixton bag for the longest time. It's a bit of a splurge, but this Italian-tanned leather all-in-one camera and laptop bag is such a classic that your photographer will have it forever.

Wish You Were Northwest Shirts and Sweatshirts – Price Varies
I bought one of these shirts for my best friend’s birthday this fall and she loved it! The shirt was so well made, clever, and perfectly Pacific Northwest that I could not recommend this local Etsy shop more.

Fifth & Mae State Necklaces - Starting at $10.95
Each delicate necklace is shaped for each state. I bought the "Oregon" one last year and wore it every day until unfortunately I misplaced it. These sweet little necklaces give your traveler a way to carry a little piece of home with her as she adventures.
